Congratulations to Friends’ School students who donated their coins to “Pennies for Peace”. The students gave $213.51 in pennies to the organization which teaches children the rewards of sharing and working together to bring hope and educational opportunities to children in Pakistan and Afghanistan. A penny in the United States is virtually worthless, but in Pakistan and Afghanistan a penny buys a pencil and opens the door to literacy.
- Maya’s (ULC-N 4th Grade) poem “Dreams 2” won in the Second/Third Grade category of the Tattered Cover Bookstore’s Poetry Contest!

Soren's (MLC-N) “Fierce Crocodile” collage was selected as the first piece of art to be placed in the newly created “Friends’ School Permanent Artwork Collection.” Thank you, Soren, and congratulations!
