Astrid S (ULC-N 5th) was accepted into the Boulder Youth Symphony’s Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. She has been playing the saxophone since the third grade and this is her first time playing for the Symphony. She will be performing in upcoming Winter and Spring concerts.

Marie L (ULC-N 5th) was named Concert Master (first chair, first violin section) for the Front Range Youth Symphony, Concert Strings in Arvada. She was also cast as Jasmine in the CenterStage Theatre musical production of Aladdin at the Dairy Center in Boulder and also sang the orphan solo in Les Miserables last spring.

Both Ben M (MLC-N) who swam for the Boulder Country Club swim team this summer and Zach C (MLC-S) who swam for the Rock Creek team made it into the Boulder Valley Summer Swim League finals!

“Japanese Style Landscape Prints,” an exhibit of artwork by the Fifth graders under the direction of art teacher Rachel Relin was on display through mid-November on the Community art wall in the City of Boulder Planning and Development Building.

Congratulations to Hannah A, (ULC-S), whose self portrait was featured in the Sunday edition of the Boulder Daily Camera! Hannah created her painting in Rachel Relin’s art class of self-portraits in the style of Frida Kahlo.

Christopher P (MLC-N) and his sister Teresa (Friends’ graduating class of 2007) performed in The Christmas Revels at the Boulder Theater in December
