Class of 1999

Marja D. graduated from Boulder High School and attends the University of California at Santa Cruz where she studies psychology and Spanish. Over the summer of 2006, she participated in the AMIGOS program where lived with a family in Masaya, Nicaragua for 8 weeks doing volunteer health projects with children.

Justin D. graduated from Fairview High School. During his time at Fairview, Justin lettered in varsity football (2 years) and tennis (3 years) and received the honorable mention in all-state tennis. After a summer vacation with his family to Hawaii, Justin attended the communications school at the University of Alabama his Freshman year. He transferred to CU Boulder in the fall of 2008.

Allison F. graduated from Fairview High School, where she was a reporter and, later, the features and entertainment editor for The Royal Banner. She also enjoyed participating, as a junior, in the last group of Student Leadership Boulder. Allison attends D.U. and plans on majoring in business.

K.J. K. graduated from Boulder High School, where he was elected to the Spanish Honorary Society. K.J. is a supporter of a variety of environmental organizations including Green Peace. In addition to working at CU in the copying and imaging department, he has also started his own eBay business selling goods for people. He attends CU he’s in the science and engineering department.

Rithy O-F. attended New Vista High School and graduated from Front Range Academy in Boulder. His essay to the Anti Defamation League on discrimination earned him a trip with 20 other Colorado students to Washington DC to discuss discrimination with Congress. Rithy’s plans after high school include travel and work.

Meredith S. attended Tara Institute of the Performing Arts her first 2 years of high school and a British school in England for her junior year. She ranked in the top 5 for English and top 10 for Fine Arts in the national GCSE exams (a British equivalent to the ACT or the SAT). After graduating from Boulder High, she attended art school in England for a year and then moved on to Cornell University in the fall of 2007 to pursue her studies in English and Psychology.

Klein W. graduated from Boulder High School and attends the College of Santa Fe for film/music school. Since fifth grade, he’s spent most of him time playing the guitar and bass and making films. For the past few summers he has worked for a local architecture firm, Tres Birds Workshop.

Evan Y. graduated from Bridge School. In addition to playing the electric bass guitar with his band, Evan made his own acoustic bass guitar from an Italian Master Lutherie as part of Bridge School’s May Term. He spent the summers 2005-2007 working with Adventure Education Company as a counselor and in 2004 received the Boulder Optimist Youth Appreciation Award for volunteering at the Boulder Homeless Shelter. Evan attends Reed College in Portland, Oregon.

Arthur Y. graduated from New Vista High School and has been working with a voice coach and singing in a variety of hip hop and jazz events. Most recently he has been volunteering at KGNU and is also participating in FLOW (Fluent Lyric Oratory Workshop), a hip hop music event at Boulder High School. Arthur plans to work for a year after high school while looking at colleges.
