Happy Hour, a band including Friends’ graduates Jack H. (Friends’ class of 2005), Lucas H. (Friends’ class of 2004), and Tim C. (Friends’ class of 2003) performed at the Boulder Creek Festival in May 2007.
Nina S., Class of 2003, recently volunteered in the MLC-N, where she was reunited with her former buddy Myrah Dodge-Hink. When Nina was in the 3rd grade at Friends’ she was the buddy to Myrah who was in kindergarten at the time.
Matt K., Friends’ School class of 2003, is one of four students from Platt CHOICE chosen to participate in a community service project at the Birds of Prey Foundation in Broomfield. The foundation, which is closed to the public, cares for Golden and Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, a variety of owls, and many other birds of prey. Matt and his classmates will provide help with the birds while learning more about this important foundation. In addition, Matt is heading up a fundraiser to adopt a young eagle, named "Derby," for a year.
Daniel H. (Friends’ graduating class of 2003) received a $300 grant from Boulder County's Community Foundation to make a short documentary film “Lunchtime”. Daniel's film debuted at the Community Foundation last month, and was presented in April to Boulder Valley's superintendent and staff members at Boulder's Creekside Elementary. The 18-minute film, which focuses on school lunches, includes interviews with students, teachers, parents and state legislators, along with school-lunch footage.
