In an effort to promote economic diversity within the school population, both the Preschool and Elementary school have a sliding scale tuition based on annual family income, with limits on the number of families in each tier. The school reviews the most recent Federal Income Tax return filed by the family in making this determination. Three tuition payment plans are available: annual, semi-annual, or monthly. If you choose the monthly payment plan, enrollment in the SMART Tuition Management Services is required. Supplemental financial aid assistance is also available. All persons seeking additional financial aid must file a Friends’ School financial aid application directly with the school. Friends’ School charges a required activites fee for grades 2 through 5. This fee is based on the sliding scale and is included in the tuition payment plan. Friends' School also charges a nonrefundable application fee of $50.00 paid at the time a student first applies for admission. After a student is admitted, final tuition is determined by placement within open tiers on the sliding scale and then applying any adjustments or additional financial aid. A nonrefundable deposit equal to 10% of the final tuition is paid at the time an enrollment contract is signed.
