Why Give?

Why Give to Friends’ School?

Friends’ School, like most independent schools, relies on the generosity of parents, alumni families, grandparents, friends, corporations, and foundations to support our school, allowing us to continue to further our mission of educating the whole child - head, hand, and heart.

Each and every gift to Friends’ School is important. Please consider a gift that is meaningful for you and your family. We urge you to participate and stress how important your contribution is. Your gift, along with that of others, directly enhances each child’s education.

Our established gift programs include:
Annual Fund
This is a yearly appeal for donations to support the current operations of the school. All donations to the Annual Fund help support the day-to-day life of every student and teacher by supporting a variety of programs at Friends’, including: academics, staff development, special guests, field trips, events, and our sliding scale tuition and financial aid. The Annual Fund begins each year on July 1 and ends on June 30.

The Auction
Each year, a team of parent volunteers work together to put on an Auction in the spring. The proceeds from the auction go toward the school’s operating budget, and help pay for tuition support, classroom materials, technology, and teacher salaries and benefits.

The Endowment Fund
The Friends' School Endowment Fund can be compared to a savings account or other financial asset that generates income through wise investment of the principal. The income generated from the endowment will be used each year to support school priorities such as teacher salaries, staff development, and student programs, thus relieving pressure for tuition increases. Donations to the Endowment Fund are welcome and much appreciated. Please contact Caroline Landry at clandry@friendsschoolboulder.org or 303-499-1999 ext. 263.

Polly T. Donald Enrichment Fund
In honor of former Head of School Polly T. Donald's 17 years of service to Friends', the school has established The Polly T. Donald Enrichment Fund to support one teacher and staff member each year to pursue an activity or passion which will invigorate him or her. Activities might include learning an instrument, a new language or skill.

Movin’ and Boppin’In the spring, students have the opportunity to raise funds for the school by collecting pledges and participating in a day of activity at the school.
