Water, music, football & gummy bears

Congratulations to all of Friends School’s middle school scientists who showcased their science fair projects to our community on Tuesday afternoon. Thank you to all of our students for their hard work, dedication and research on some incredible topics.

Yay! Science!

Huge congratulations to middle school student scientists for their outstanding performance at CSEF, the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair, held on the Colorado State University Campus in Ft Collins April 7th and 8th.

It’s science fair season

Friends middle school scientists have spent the last several months researching and working on their science fair projects and will be presenting them soon!

On the front lines for kids

Friends School parent Jody Castrillon is a Registered Nurse at Children’s Hospital Colorado. We recently caught up with her to get the lowdown on what her experience has been on the frontlines of children’s healthcare locally right now. We thank Jody for blogging with us, and for her impactful work!

With Design Thinking, The Sky’s The Limit!

Creative problem-solving skills prepare our students to tackle small and large challenges both inside out outside our school walls.Friends School uses Design Thinking to teach our students how to deconstruct problems and design innovative solutions, and what parents can do to support this at home.

Science Fair Season

The middle school science fair projects are just about to be released and the topics are fascinating. Kevin Nugent describes all that goes into these projects, the “new” scientific process, and the importance of “failing forward”.

Mindfully connecting with science

Kindergarten teacher, Annika Nygren, loves science. Her eyes light up when she describes Kindergarteners as natural scientists, filled with curiosity and endless questions and theories. Integrating science with mindfulness resulted in a very interesting project.

Challenging minds. Nurturing spirits. Honoring individuality.
