Andres Castrillon, a native of Colombia, spent several years of his early twenties traveling the world. Later, he resided in several Asian countries, where he studied Eastern philosophies and became a yoga instructor. In 2001, Andres relocated to New York, teaching yoga and meditation for a nonprofit organization. Years later, wanting to continue his career in the visual arts, he enrolled at Santa Monica College in California, where he obtained an Associate Degree in Film Studies. In 2008 he graduated from the Film Production program at Los Angeles Film School and worked in post-production for several film projects and producers. Attracted by the Rocky Mountains’ natural beauty, he, his wife Jody, and their son, Phoenix, moved to Colorado in 2014. Wanting to advance his career towards the academic field, Andres enrolled in the Critical Film Studies program at The University of Colorado in Boulder, where he obtained a BA degree. He is enrolled in a Master’s program in Art History with an emphasis in Cinema at the same institution. His son Phoenix, who is in fourth grade, started his journey at Friends in Kindergarten.
Andres has a passion for learning, art, languages, natural living, and self-reliance. He loves planning and taking international road trips with his family, as well as gardening and working on his greenhouse project.
