Chris Willis grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, then headed to Philadelphia and discovered her interest in the learning sciences during her undergraduate years at the University of Pennsylvania. She pursued that interest through a career in education publishing, professional development for math and science teachers, and the application of theories of learning to effect change in corporate cultures. Obtaining her doctorate degree and certification in educational psychology and cognitive science at the University of Colorado provided an opportunity for a deep dive into the theoretical side. This theoretical perspective, and a full appreciation for the interplay between theory and practice, profoundly informed and enriched her work in universities, school systems and corporate settings.
Chris loves the outdoors and active sports, logging many happy hours on lakes, ski slopes, tennis courts, ice rinks, soccer fields and mountain trails. She’s the very happy mom of an 8th grader at Friends School and a senior at Boulder High. And she’s grateful for the opportunity to serve the Friends School community as it grows and evolves.
