I am so excited to be a Teacher Candidate at Friends School for the 2021-2022 school year! Teaching is one of those careers where there really is no substitute for hands-on experience, and I love that we get to be in the classroom for an entire school year. We are fortunate to have an incredibly supportive PLC and I can’t wait to begin this adventure with my fellow TCs and my mentor teacher!
Kids have this magical quality about them, this amazing way of bringing you into the moment and showing you the world through their eyes. I had so much fun teaching Pre-K and working at a preschool! Later, my experiences tutoring children at a Domestic Violence Shelter, working as a Special Ed Instructional Assistant, and then as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for a foster child further strengthened my resolve to teach. I am determined to make sure that every child knows they are loved and believes in their potential.
Shortly after graduating from California State University with my Bachelors Degree in Human Development, my husband and I were ready to start a family of our own. We have two very silly kids, a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy, and they make us laugh constantly. I love being a mom, and in my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, reading, and having family pillow fights.
