New York University - M.A. Visual Arts Administration
After a lifetime of moving northward up the east coast, I am now headed west to the great land of Colorado! Growing up in South Florida, I moved to Atlanta for college, where I studied art history and French at Emory University. After undergrad, I moved to New York to pursue art curating and sales at NYU’s Master’s in Visual Arts Administration program. I received my MA in 2015.
While studying art, I was simultaneously babysitting and tutoring, and realized how much joy, meaning, and learning I was encountering in these roles working with children. I decided to try out the field of education at the International Charter School of New York in Brooklyn, and stayed there for 3 years, 2 as a teaching assistant in K and 1, and this past year as a lead in first grade. It was the best year yet!
I am moving to Colorado with my partner who will be a first year at Boulder Law. While New York has served our personal and professional growth, we are both excited for the new scenes and experiences Boulder will have to offer. I am thrilled to have found this program at Friends, where I will have a purpose and community to dive into. I am also excited to experience a whole different age group – 5th graders!
